  • Uploaded Content: Resumes, job descriptions, essays, LinkedIn URLs, and other documents you upload.
  • Interview Data: Audio/text recordings, interview transcripts, scores, and AI-generated feedback.
  • Technical Data: IP address, device type, browser type, usage metrics, and session logs.
  • Optional Demographic Data: If you provide information such as age, education background, or target employer.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive data (e.g., race, health status), but it may be included in user uploads. Users are responsible for ensuring their uploads comply with local laws.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal data to:

  • Provide, personalize, and improve our AI interview simulations.
  • Generate structured feedback and performance reports.
  • Operate and maintain user accounts.
  • Monitor usage and performance for security and analytics.

3. Use of AI and Automated Decision-Making

Our Services use AI models (including from third-party providers) to analyze interview responses and generate automated feedback. This may include:

  • Assigning scores or performance ratings.
  • Highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Simulating interviewer personas based on uploaded content.

All feedback is AI-generated and for informational purposes only. No human review is guaranteed. CruxAI does not make hiring or educational decisions.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your data with:

  • Service Providers: Including OpenAI (LLM processing), cloud storage providers, and analytics services. We use OpenAI's API for interview simulations. These providers may process data in the United States.
  • Legal/Compliance Authorities: If required by law or to protect our rights or users.

We do not sell your personal data.

We do not restrict our third-party AI providers (e.g., OpenAI) from using submitted data unless restricted by their default policies. Users should review their terms for more information.

5. International Transfers

By using our Services, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the United States and other countries where our service providers are located. CruxAI does not currently implement specific contractual safeguards (e.g., SCCs) for cross-border transfers. Users outside the U.S. are responsible for compliance with their local laws.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

  • You may request to delete your account and all associated data via your Settings page.
  • Upon request, we delete user data from our systems (and our vendors) within 3 business days, subject to technical and legal constraints.
  • We do not retain data beyond active usage except for debugging and internal analytics, unless legally required.

7. Children's Privacy

CruxAI is intended for users 16 years or older. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a minor without proper consent, we will delete it immediately.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal data. However, no system is 100% secure. Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials.
